Import historical transactions
If you start your Xero file part way through the year, you can import past transactions up to the date you have activated your bank feed.
We recommend you touch base with us to help you do this.
In the Accounting menu select Bank accounts.
Navigate to the account that requires historical transactions to be imported.
From the manage account menu, select “import a statement”.
Download the CSV template.
You will need to download transactions from your online banking in CSV format and sort the data to align with Xero’s import template.
For example, money coming in is a positive, while money spent is negative.
Ensure all fields with an asterisk in Xero’s template are completed to successfully import.
Save the Xero template and upload.
You can map and preview the transactions before completing the import.
Complete import.
